"He has always been a devious bastard," Artemis growled. "He has always seemed to have a second escape route. A coward in my eyes always."

"We had thought that, you would get him this time. Though, I think that he might be exhausting his allies. At this point he has used some of his most powerful." Athena stated.

Ephus was nodding when a thought came to him. Turning to the Greek god and goddesses he asked. "Just who in the hell was I dealing with? Both the male and female had twisted misshapen faces and bodies. Then, there is the fact that, I don't think they will be back for a bit, I nearly took the arm of the male."

"You say that they were misshapen, the female was she bent somewhat at her back?" Athena asked.

Ephus thought about it a few moments before he turned toward Athena. "Yes that seems to describe them greatly."

Athena was quiet for a few moments as it appeared that she was searching out the information in her head. "Yes, I am sure of it. It appears, that Ares has been getting favors from other gods that owe him. The two you describe are Dolos, and his sister Apate.

"The goddess and god of trickery, cunning deception, craftiness, treachery, fraud and deception? Damn, no wonder I had such a hard time seeing who they truly were." Ephus said.

"Wait, you saw who they were? You saw through their disguises?" Here Athena turned to stare in shock at her sisters and brother.

All of them turned back to Ephus, all their mouths hanging open. "Never, have we heard of any, god nor mortal who has ever accomplished this. Are you certain you are not using a power that, you haven't told us of?" A startled Artemis said, a new look of respect that quickly melted into lust on her face.

The lustful looks he was receiving from Artemis, weren't lost on him nor her sisters. They were doing nothing to hide the smiles their faces held.

Ephus could only groan inside, he had made a promise, though, each time he tried to fulfill it, something got in the way. Damn it, it wasn't like he didn't want to, she was as gorgeous as her sisters. She was a walking time bomb of sexual frustration. Looking at her again, he could also see that, he was the only one that might be able to defuse her.

Ephus leaned over to Quinn, whispering to her. A look of concern came to her face, then she looked around Ephus to see a very frustrated Artemis.

Quinn looked back into Ephus eyes, with a smile coming to her face. "I know that you have to do this, mainly to help save them. I can see that you love me, more than any other. Go help her, explain though that you are mine first then all the others. It looks like you will have the time, especially with Ares and all of his cronies out of commission for a while."

This time it was Ephus who was staring deep into Quinn's eyes. He had to make sure, he'd learned early on to not screw with the emotions of a female that one loved. As he remembered from his friends lives that had, it hadn't turned out very well at all. As a matter of fact a few of them were still limping.

Ephus nodded his head, he was relieved when she returned his nod then gave him a small kiss. "Help her husband, I can almost taste her desperation on the air."

A slightly shocked Ephus, drew back further to see Quinn's smile grow larger. "I will do my best Quinn."

"I know Ephus, I expect no less from you." Quinn said as she gave Ephus a slight push toward Artemis.

Ephus walked directly to Artemis, a perplexed though still frustrated look on her face. A look that rapidly faded into a huge smile as Ephus was whispering to her. A moment later when Ephus pulled back Artemis was vigorously nodding her head.

He took a step back from her holding out his hand. When she could only stare at his hand, seeming to be in a state of shock, he asked, "you want me to cancel?"

"NO!" Artemis shouted as she lunged for Ephus grabbing him tight, then they both vanished.

Ephus and Aretmis appeared in the same small building that he had with Athena. He'd had this made to facilitate times such as these. As he remembered with a smile on his lips, Athena had greatly appreciated it.

"I know what the others said about you and this... Love making? I have nothing to compare it to, neither did my sisters. Even Hera, could not put it into words the joy that she stated she experienced. Please Ephus, please let me feel this also." Artemis stated softly, then she quickly removed her clothing. Laying back she spread her self open to Ephus.

Ephus began to remove his clothes, surprised that she was as eager as she was. Leaning over her, Ephus began to slowly, passionately kiss her slightly pouting lips. Touching her face, he slowly worked each side of her neck, her breathing rapidly increasing.

The kisses, slowly evolved to small suckles and nips as he started to work his way to her chest. Several gasps started to come from Artemis, as Ephus kissed his way across and down her breast.

Again, Ephus was surprise with the way Artemis was reacting. He could have sworn that Artemis, was as shy as Serket was. It had taken almost five years, to get Serket to the point that she was thinking about sex with him. Though when they had it had been more than Ephus ever thought it would be.

He then reached inside trying to find the inner well of energy that Zeus had talked about. Finally finding it he plunged his hands into it feeling his body fill.

He let out the breath he'd been holding, now he felt a lot better. Looking at Artemis, he hoped he hadn't hurt her in any way.

It seemed almost an hour later when he heard Artemis stir. A somewhat crooked smile on her face her eys opened to stare at Ephus a moment.

"If I never made love again, I will at least have the memory of what it should be like. The males of our realm, have much to learn." Artemis stated.

Ephus could only nod as she arose, kissed him, then vanished with a satisfied smile.

Ephus got dressed, then waved a hand appearing in the living room of his home. Sitting he thought about what he needed to do next. An hour later he called Zeus's daughters and Hephaestus he sat to discuss more about their brother.

"I know that you are mad at their lack of help. I think it would be a good idea if you powered Hermes up. If nothing else he could bring messages between us far faster than we could. That's why he was our messenger." Hephaestus advised Ephus.

The sour look of Ephus face almost had Hephaestus laughing, 'til he figured Ephus wasn't faking.

"I am not so sure about that." Ephus almost spit out surprising the four there. "I have that backup and assurance of the Egyptian gods and goddesses. Even with the little I have forged with you four, I am still quite unsure about this realm." When the four started to protest Ephus held up his hand. "I know you helped, though I am sure that you felt you had to."

A startled Athena made an almost choking sound as she stared at Ephus. "What more must we do, to prove that we need you, that we are with you?"

Ephus turned toward her looking into her eyes, then nodded his head. That's when his eyes slid past Artemis seeing a look in her eyes that he hadn't expected to see there. Damn he thought, was she that enamored with him? Especially after only one time?

He then turned toward Aphrodite, the one that this had all started with. She too, had a look in her eyes that he'd only seen in his wives. Turning towards Hephaestus, he saw a look of pride, along with a little hurt. Shit, these gods were a touchy lot, that was for sure.

Ephus took a deep breath as he tried to word this just right, didn't want to piss off his new friends.

"As I have tried to explain, it's not you four, nor Zeus or Hera. Those three, haven't really done anything to gain my respect. Especially Apollo and Dionysus, those two I'm not sure if they will EVER have their full power." Ephus growled out.

"I...I am s...so...sorry Ephus. It was never my intent to anger you, I just thought it might help us in the long run." Hephaestus stammered out causing his sister and Ephus to turn and stare at him.

Ephus nodded his head, "I know that you are a true warrior now, my friend Hephaestus. To face what you just did, you are truly remarkable. Call your brother though," here Ephus placed a hand on Hephaestus's shoulder. "I am hoping that, something like you just stated, also comes from his lips."

A slight smile came to Hephaestus as he nodded then closed his eyes. A moment later a tall, blonde male with a round hat and wings on his shoes appeared.

A wide eyed, shocked look came to his face. Looking around he saw three of his sisters and his brother Hephaestus. He saw Ephus beyond his siblings, remembering what he'd said, what Hera had instructed him he started to speak.

Ephus cut him off before he got a word out of his mouth. "I have been asked to power you up so you can aid us in your official capacity. I am NOT in agreement with this, I'd rather leave you weak and useless. Thank your brother for a slightly convincing argument in your favor. Now I await what you have to say before I do anything."

A startled, slightly shaking Hermes started to open his mout5h then snapped it closed. Forming his words carefully e hoped that he did this correctly.

"Ephus, I apologize for what was said earlier. As with the rest of us, it has been a very long time since we trusted any other. We have been trying to help father defend this realm, out home. I hope that with your help we can make it as great as it once was." Hermes told a slightly nodding Ephus.

Turning slightly to look at Hermes, Ephus started to dismiss him with his hand. "I am not in the mood to listen to those that do not wish my help. I..."

Hermes threw his self at Ephus feet. "Please Ephus, don't leave me this way. I can not go on much longer, not as weak as I am." Hermes was saying his head down.

Ephus looked at Hephaestus and his sisters nodding lightly, all their mouths were hanging open. "We shall see Hermes." Ephus said laying a hand on Hermes shoulder for fifteen seconds.

Hermes eyes opened wide, those same eyes glowed a moment then it faded. Slightly floating off the ground Hermes was about to vanish when Ephus advised him. "Remember Hermes, what I gave you, I can block, making you as weak as before. You have some of your power back, not that much though, I do think you are, by far much faster."

Hermes stretched out feeling his power then turned to Ephus. Dropping again to his knees he stated, "I will do all I can to earn your trust, command me."

A look of shock came to Ephus face, turning he looked at Hephaestus and his sisters. A look of concern on his face as they all had large smiles on their faces.

Ares was more pissed than he'd ever been, he the god of war being as easily defeated as he was. It was almost as if everyone that was supposed to be helping him had suddenly turned against him.

A sudden thought came to mind that he rapidly discarded. No one would dare turn against him, they all feared him. Well almost all that goody, goody godling seemed to have all thinking he would defeat Ares.

He then leaned up against the wall of the cave he'd crashed into, Ares winced at the foreign feeling of pain. Cursing he was truly going to kill the godling if it was the last thing he did.

Shaking his head he saw that both his sons, were battered and bruised far more than he ever remembered them ever being.

A slight growl escaped his throat as he thought of the allies he'd already lost, the worst being his sister Eris. He could barely feel her at all, how in all the unholy realms had the godling done that?

Ares flexed his hands, again wincing as the unwanted and unfamiliar feeling of pain radiated down his arm. It was at that moment that an even more intense feeling started to run down his back. Bringing his power up as far as he could, he barely felt his healing kick in. His thoughts were suddenly broken by a deep female voice.

"First time I have ever seen your ass handed to you Ares." The female voice stated behind him. "I like your choice of bases, dark and cold just like you."

Ares whirled, pissed that anyone would speak to him like they had. A wide smile broke across his features as he was staring at a fully armored female. A smile came to her face as she extended her arm to begin healing Ares.

"Ah! It is so damn good to see you Enyo. Without our sister, I am without one of my greatest weapons." Ares said as he could feel the pain rapidly fading.

Enyo shook her head, "I warned you that one day she would find a way out. Would you listen? No, you had to do things your damn way. You had to try and guarantee her loyalty taking all of her in a bonding." Ares started to wave Enyo off, when she reached out smacking Ares to the floor.

Ares arose with a sword in his hand as the both of them started battling. An hour later, a strangely refreshed and healed Ares nodded to Enyo.

A large smile crossed his features as he nodded. "With you back beside me sister, I can't see how we can fail. With our combined power and this," here Ares held up the black Caspian god killer. "We should make very short work of this damn godling Ephus."

"That's why I am here, I have heard some of the biggest bullshit stories about him. The main one that concerned me was you being defeated, three times. Well, that won't happen again." Here both Enyo and Ares laughed evilly.
